September for a lot of us who live at the gateway of Glacier National Park, is our favorite month of the year. The days are sunny and warm, the nights are cold and it is nice and cozy inside. This is when our cabins are at their best! Enjoy a day of hiking in perfect weather and then relax in front of the fireplace with a glass of wine.

August is Inflatable Kayak month! The rapids are so much fun and more intense in one of these smaller crafts. We have singles for the super adventurous and doubles for those who would like to share the experience with someone else. These two ladies had never gone down the Middle Fork of the Flathead river in an Inflatable Kayak before, and they LOVED it!

Moose sighting on a Half Day Whitewater Trip

Yesterday’s river trip was so exciting, apart from the Middle Fork of the Flathead river being at a very good level for rapids, guests and guides on that trip saw a moose at the river’s edge.

Last Spring we saw a lot of black bears as we floated down and it is always entertaining when the bald eagles come out and “race” the boat, They are such majestic animals. We enjoy spotting wild creatures while enjoying the beautiful scenery and splashy rapids!

¬†Since our season has not quite started, (our first trip is Friday, May 11th) some of our off duty raft guides and two managers went on a 5 day raft trip on the Middle Fork of the Salmon in Idaho to get into the summer spirit.
