Getting Here

By Car

Traveling east on Highway 2 from Columbia Falls, Great Northern is on the left side of the highway a half-mile before the turn onto the Going to the Sun Highway toward Glacier National Park. Traveling west on Highway 2 from Cutbank, Great Northern is on the right side of the highway just after Glacier Heli-Tours.  Roads are well-marked, making driving easy.

By Air

Glacier Park International Airport (FCA) in Kalispell is just a 30-minute drive from Great Northern Resort. The airport is served by Delta, United, Allegiant and Alaskan Airlines, which offer non-stop service from and connections through Seattle, Salt Lake City, Denver, Minneapolis and Las Vegas, as well as seasonal non-stop service from Atlanta and Chicago.

We strongly recommend renting a car for your visit so that you can fully explore the area. Check out the airport’s website, www.iflyglacier.com, for a full list of rental car agencies in the terminal.

To reach Glacier National Park Cabins and West Glacier Lodging at Great Northern Resort from Glacier Park International Airport, take a left at the airport exit. After 4.5 miles, turn right to stay on Hwy 2E.  Continue 17 miles (you may want to stop in Columbia Falls or Hungry Horse at the grocery store to stock the fridge in your cabin). As you near West Glacier and the turn for Glacier National Park, you’ll see Great Northern Resort on the left hand side of the highway. Look for the Red Caboose.

By Train

The first visitors to Glacier National Park arrived here by way of the Great Northern Railway, so if you are craving your own ‘See America First’ adventure, consider taking the train!

Amtrak provides passenger rail service to the West Glacier Station (WGL), just 1.0 mile from Glacier National Park Cabins and West Glacier Lodging at Great Northern Resort. Visit www.amtrak.com for details on routes and tickets.
