Since our season has not quite started, (our first trip is Friday, May 11th) some of our off duty raft guides and two managers went on a 5 day raft trip on the Middle Fork of the Salmon in Idaho to get into the summer spirit. So what to do on a rainy/snowy Tuesday afternoon when we can’t go rafting? We are lucky to have Glacier Distilling Company just down the road for a quick cocktail or to sample new products, so we did both! The new whiskey made from Great Northern Brewing Company’s Wheatfish beer is delicious!

During the summer, we encourage all Great Northern Resort staff to go rafting and fly fishing. They can either go on a guided, commercial trip (office staff who have never been rafting will choose this option as their first trip) or they can borrow equipment and go on a trip of their own.
